  • Stillwater celebrated 40 years of cultural exchange with sister city Kameoka when city officials presented a proclamation on Oct. 6, 2025 + local Iron Monk Brewing released a custom drink named Shimai Toshi on Oct. 23 to honor a partnership that began in 1985 and has built community ties.  OSU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Riata Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship announced OSU-owned and led businesses to be honored at the Cowboy100 gala on March 28 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in partnership with OSU & Foundation. The event celebrates entrepreneurial success from OSU graduates.  OSU
  • State lawmakers and education officials are working to revise social studies standards — last-minute changes sparked controversy last year. The State Department of Education proposed a new version following a Thursday news conference.  Stillwater News Press
  • Five Spears Business students were named OSU Outstanding Seniors on Monday, Feb. 9 by the OSU Alumni Association for their academic and community achievements. A private reception will be held on April 7 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater.  OSU
  • OSU Global reorganized on Feb. 9 to merge the English Language and Intercultural Center into the Office of International Students and Scholars, uniting language learning, intercultural programming and immigration compliance under one structure. It also established a Fulbright and Global Scholar Support Office to centralize guidance for competitive global opportunities.  OSU

HEALTH NEWS

  • OSU Center for Health Sciences + Saint Francis Health System finalized a trauma care agreement that expands residency and fellowship programs at the new Level I trauma center, as OSU-CHS President Johnny Stephens described it as a tremendous opportunity.  OSU
