  • TJ Nance (a two-time Spears Business grad and former OSU golfer) shared on Thursday, March 12 how his early work at Stillwater Country Club inspired him to co-found LYT Group, a consulting firm that now employs 18 people in Oklahoma City.  OSU

CULTURE NEWS

  • At Bad Brad's Bar-B-Q, a cozy side-room transforms Thursday nights into a stage where emerging artist Asher Myers overcomes stage jitters and connects with local musicians (songwriter circle). His growing confidence supports an ongoing effort to build community through live music.  The O'Colly
  • Mike Swartz launched the Old Row message board in Stillwater in 2007 to let fraternity students share campus culture; by late 2016 the site evolved into a business and influenced modern college social feeds (a foundation for digital campus conversations).  The O'Colly

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Rising gas prices over $3 are forcing OSU students to tighten their budgets and take on extra side gigs in Stillwater. Some now fill up in smaller increments — a change aimed at easing weekly expenses.  The O'Colly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • OSU students won first place in Riata’s Rising Entrepreneur Track on Thursday, March 12 and advanced to the TigerLaunch World Cup finals at Princeton in April — a milestone that earned them $4,000 and set the stage for international competition. The team will showcase local innovation on the world stage.  OSU
  • Triangle Fraternity returns to OSU after a 30-year hiatus and will accept new members for fall 2026. Prospective members can attend Greek Discovery Day on March 28 at the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology’s Endeavor Lab 160 from 5:30—7:30 p.m., where food and refreshments will be provided.  OSU
  • Eleven business students, including one from Stillwater, were named Spears Distinguished Seniors at OSU’s Spears School of Business for the 2025-26 academic year. The awards honor academic excellence, leadership and service & one senior will receive the Raymond D. Thomas Award this spring.  OSU
  • A new OSU club connects student filmmakers to build practical experience. Its second meeting took place March 9 and it will host a 48-hour film workshop from April 3 to 5, a seniors film contest, and a film festival on May 1 at Noble Research Center Room 207.  The O'Colly

HEALTH NEWS

  • OSU's purple wheat variety OSU-P92, released in January, offers extra antioxidants for gut and brain health – OSU Ag Research says it shows high rust resistance and baking quality that may help local farmers and bakers enter niche markets.  OSU
  • Women of Wellness held its annual brunch on March 11 at Sparrow Beginnings in Stillwater where hundreds gathered to discuss women’s health issues during National Women’s Month.  Stillwater News Press
