COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ City of Stillwater remains alert to more wildfires as firefighters work with state and federal agencies to put out hotspots and check damage from Friday’s fires. Preliminary data shows 74 homes were lost in Stillwater (11 heavily damaged) and 170 in Payne County, and the city will hold a relief pick-up at the Armory on March 19 from 4-6 p.m. City of Stillwater
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A family of five (including five dogs) found shelter at the Payne County Expo Center Saturday after winds whipped flames in a field trapped them in their mobile home. Stillwater News Press
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 37-year-old man, convicted of sexual battery in 2007 in Cowley County, Kansas, was arrested in Cushing for failing to register as a sex offender while living at 306 S. Timber Ridge for about four months — he was taken into custody on March 11 and is now jailed on $15,000 bail — pending his arraignment on March 19. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ A Stillwater teenager was charged as an adult with sexually assaulting and choking two girls in a dating relationship, was arraigned on March 6, and remains free on a $25,000 bond while he awaits a May 12 hearing. Stillwater News Network

- ➤ Today, the Oklahoma Poison Center reported a surge in calls about accidental overdoses from injectable drugs used for weight loss and diabetes management. The drugs are GLP-1 agonists—like Ozempic—that help lower blood sugar and promote weight loss. Stillwater News Press
