EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Yu Feng received OSU’s 2025 President's Fellow Faculty Research Award of $20,000 yesterday to support his research on the role of cilia in lung health. The project will build a digital twin (a computer model that simulates the human airway) and aims to improve therapies for respiratory diseases in Oklahoma. OSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At a City Council meeting Monday evening, emergency responders and City officials explained new data on Stillwater’s March 14 wildfires and walked residents through the day’s events and recovery efforts — noting that some aspects of the response cannot be measured by numbers. - ➤ On Saturday, March 29, Stillwater Regional Airport will host a full-scale mock emergency exercise with local emergency response agencies to test crisis preparedness. The event runs from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and includes simulated emergency conditions plus road closures that require the public to use alternate routes. City of Stillwater
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Oklahoma State University researchers have launched a study on the Asian longhorned tick and its effects on cattle herds, with OSU Extension veterinarian Dr. Rosslyn Biggs teaming with the College of Veterinary Medicine. The study will run through the end of 2025 and asks 20 to 30 ranchers with about 20 head of cattle each to join—supplies, blood tests, and shipping are provided. OSU
