CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Cushing woman with a criminal record in several counties was arraigned Tuesday on a felony charge for allegedly securing $10,294 in food stamps by falsely listing a man as a household member even though he was in prison (she remains held on $5,000 bail in Payne County Jail and must return to court on April 1). - ➤ A Cushing woman with a criminal record in four counties was arraigned on a felony charge for allegedly obtaining $10,294 in food stamps by saying a man was in her household when he was in prison—she is set to appear again on April 1 and remains in Payne County Jail on $5,000 bail. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ A Ponca City teen accused of shooting a customer outside a convenience store at 711 N. Main Street in Stillwater on March 2 was jailed on a $1,000,000 bail and will face a court appearance on April 7 (he faces potential life sentences if convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and firearm possession) while surveillance video showed he and the victim talked before the incident. 1600 KUSH-AM

- ➤ On March 26th, Wes Watkins passed away, leaving behind his wife Lou and children Martha, Wade and Sally and earning heartfelt praise from OSU leaders—his work in education, economic development and international trade shaped local progress. The OSU A&M Board of Regents and interim president Hess expressed deep condolences while highlighting his lifelong efforts to create opportunities for Oklahomans—his legacy continues to inspire future endeavors. - ➤ Students from OSU's College of Engineering won GoAero Stage 1 of the U.S. University Innovation Award on March 26 by designing an emergency eVTOL aircraft that fits in a 53-foot dry van trailer and flies 75 miles in 71 minutes. The project, led by Dr. Atanu Halder and involving collaboration with Texas A&M, targets missions for search and rescue, evacuations, and rapid medical response — giving students practical innovation experience. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials are moving from short-term recovery to long-term rebuilding help for homes affected by wildfires.
