CRIME NEWS

  • SPD arrested a suspect of a fatal shooting Saturday in Stillwater at about 8:45 p.m. near an apartment complex on North Boomer Road+ SPD responded to the incident where one victim was reported.  Stillwater News Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Cross Canadian Ragweed members Cody Canada and Randy Ragsdale appeared at city hall on Monday with family and briefly addressed the council as Mayor Will Joyce declared April 7–13 'Red Dirt Music Week.' The band said they were honored to play in the city while concerts featuring Ragweed and other acts will begin Thursday at Boone Pickens Stadium to boost local business after a recent wildfire.  The O'Colly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On April 7th, OSU Center for Health Sciences earned its No.1 ranking for graduates serving medically underserved areas. The report showed that 73% of OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine graduates work in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and the school improved its rural practice ranking to No.11 (up from No.19).  OSU

  • Rep. Mike Dobrinski from Okeene authored House Bill 2162 on Feb. 4th to expand a water restoration act that will remove harmful trees including Eastern Red cedar from selected watersheds statewide—he aims to turn long-held concerns into real action.  Stillwater News Press

  • Former Arizona State 125-pound champion Richard Figueroa committed to wrestle for Oklahoma State on Monday—he joins as the fifth transfer prospect and brings a 51-9 record and national title win to boost the Cowboys' upper weights under coach David Taylor.  The O'Colly
  • The Oklahoma State men's golf team tied with Texas for first at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in Augusta, Georgia after posting a 20-under score for its third win of the season + sophomore Preston Stout finished third with an 11-under round that helped secure the team's high finish.  The O'Colly
