CULTURE NEWS

  • The Calf Fry returns to Stillwater on Thursday, April 30 for three days of concerts, cowboy culture and entertainment. Visitors should buy tickets early, check weather and transportation options - and stay hydrated to enjoy the festival safely.  The O'Colly
  • Elijah Grass and Kellon Collington were crowned at the annual Miss and Mister American Indian OSU pageant today—highlighting Native traditions and leadership. Grass promoted healthy behaviors to prevent disease while Collington encouraged higher education for Native youth.  The O'Colly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • OSU's Library Lawn on Monday hosted an open debate when evangelist 'Brother Matt' returned to campus, warning students about sin while groups handed out free condoms and pamphlets to counter his message about hell and promiscuity.  The O'Colly
  • Oklahoma State University President Jim Hess announced Dr. Richard Prather as the new dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, effective June 30. The college is set to build a $329-million teaching hospital to replace the old facility and boost its veterinary program.  Stillwater News Press

  • In 14 years at OSU, coach Josh Holliday developed MLB talent by mentoring players like Carson Benge, Nolan McLean, Nolan Schubart, Jonathan Heasley, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand.
