EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Stillwater Public Schools increased meal prices for full-pay plans for the 2025-26 school year, raising elementary breakfasts by 30 cents, elementary lunches by 10 cents, secondary breakfasts by 35 cents, and secondary lunches by 10 cents (approved at Tuesday's board meeting) (changes will take effect at the start of the school year). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An audit by the Oklahoma state auditor found that three employees at Payne County Environmental Enforcement Department misused county vehicles and logged extra hours, resulting in overpayments of $8,605.74. Camera footage and GPS records tracked the personal use and false timesheets during the review. The O'Colly
- ➤ A research team from Oklahoma State University is expanding an interactive mapping tool called OK-EFRA (tracking 14 hazardous chemicals on county roads) to help local emergency planners. The team is updating the tool to add new shipment data and risk maps (allowing first responders to compare storage and transport trends) for improved hazard preparedness. OSU
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Hillcrest Hospital Cushing started construction on a new behavioral health unit that will add 21 beds in 11 rooms—this unit will expand mental health services and is expected to be finished in about 120 days. 1600 KUSH-AM
