- ➤ Stillwater's Altrusa International chapter will host a free drive-through school supply giveaway for Pre-K through 12th grade students in Payne County next week at Westwood Elementary School — 502 S. Kings St. — The event is set for July 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. and guests must turn off Sixth Street onto Willis Street. Stillwater News Press
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Former OSU football player Chance Robert Clements, 22, of Stillwater is accused of extortion for threatening to post private images unless a man paid $10,000 and ended his relationship—he was arrested at 7:10 a.m. on April 23 and is set to appear before a Payne County judge this week for a preliminary hearing under the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ A Payne County jury recommended a 55-year prison term plus a $25,000 fine for Dermaine L. Arnett — a 42-year-old Stillwater man with a 25-year criminal record — for trafficking methamphetamine after he was arrested near a restaurant on N. Boomer Road in September 2023 and held in jail pending his Aug. 5 sentencing. Stillwater News Network

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ CNEDA and OSUIT signed a memorandum on Monday, July 7 to create new workforce training programs for Caddo citizens and strengthen the tribal economy. OSUIT will provide customized noncredit training while CNEDA will lead student recruitment as programs will launch in fall and run through June 30, 2026 — setting the stage for future economic growth. - ➤ On Monday, July 7, Oklahoma State University welcomed Class XV of the McKnight Scholars Leadership Program — 50 out-of-state students were chosen for their leadership, academic excellence, and service commitment. The program offers a scholarship package valued at $85,000 that includes a tuition waiver, annual cash scholarships, and study abroad opportunities. OSU
