CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Stillwater Police and Fire Departments are investigating two arson incidents at the Chapel Ridge leasing office on the 1800 block of North Hartford Street that occurred Saturday, June 28 at 4:30 a.m. and Tuesday, July 1 at 6:29 a.m.—the suspect, Trey Christopher, 32, was arrested Wednesday, July 2 for two counts of second-degree arson and released on bond on July 8. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Eskimo Joe’s is hosting a weeklong celebration for its 50th anniversary, starting today with National Fry Day events and continuing with a carnival, live music, game night, and karaoke night. The festivities conclude on July 21 with a family celebration and a time capsule reveal — visitors can also win prizes hidden in silverware packs at the restaurant. The O'Colly

- ➤ Molly Dolan — a mechanical engineering student at OSU who gained research experience in Dr. Sicheng Kevin Li’s lab — received a prestigious Vertical Flight Society scholarship on July 10, making her one of nine recipients nationwide. OSU
- ➤ OSUIT’s GM ASEP program received a donation from GM on July 10 that included 14 5.3L V-8 engines, 2 3.6L V-6 engines, 2 6-speed automatic transmissions, a 2024 GMC Sierra pickup, a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox to help students train on today's automotive technology. Instructor David Penrod said the equipment will prepare students for real-world repairs and boost their confidence as they move into the workforce. OSU

- ➤ On July 9th, Coweta Fire Department partnered with OSU students in a vehicle extrication training session to improve response times and reduce injuries—firefighter Brian Woodward explained that the hands-on drills help fire crews and EMT students learn proper tool use and communication for safe rescues.
