- ➤ Residents are invited to the Annual Cottonwood Community Ice Cream Social, set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Cottonwood Community Center located at the corner of Cottonwood & Lakeview Roads northwest of Stillwater. The Cherokee Home and Community Education Group will provide fresh fruits, ice cream toppings & water as guests bring their own ice cream or sweet treats. Stillwater News Press

- ➤ Britt Alan Weaver, a 60-year-old Edmond man and former Stillwater Pioneer Booster Club president, has been charged with embezzling $23,580 from the club between Oct. 4, 2021 and May 5, 2022—he admitted withdrawing cash improperly in an April 29 interview and has not yet appeared in court. - ➤ Stacy Stefan Capetillo, a 33-year-old ex-convict, has been set bail at $250,000 after he reportedly struck and choked his girlfriend at his Stillwater apartment on 6/17—leaving her with a broken orbital bone and reduced vision—and he will face a court appearance on Aug. 4. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ Former Stillwater Pioneer Booster Club president Britt Alan Weaver, a 60-year-old from Edmond, was charged with embezzling $23,580 between Oct. 4, 2021 and May 5, 2022 — he admitted the misappropriation and offered to refund the funds. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ On June 17th, 2025, Stillwater police set bail at $250,000 for former convict Stacy Capetillo, who was accused of violently striking his girlfriend—breaking her orbital bone and choking her at his apartment—and he remains held in Payne County Jail pending an Aug. 4 court appearance.
