- ➤ A Cushing woman pleaded guilty to drug trafficking when police found nearly $24,000 in money, eight guns, and drugs in her home where children lived—she received six years in prison and 14 years of probation while her husband remains in custody pending trial. Stillwater News Network

- ➤ Eskimo Joe’s, a local bar and restaurant on Elm Street that began in 1975, is marking its 50th anniversary with a week of events—today and Saturday bring food, live music, custom hats and an exclusive T-shirt release, and the business will hold its first street party in more than 30 years to honor its community. - ➤ The Spears Business marketing and communications department earned three honors at the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association Awards Banquet in Tulsa from July 13-15, taking the top two spots for feature stories and third place for its annual magazine Engage. Communications coordinator Hallie Hart won the top prize for her human interest story 'The Climb' and director Stephen Howard finished second for his profile 'A Team Effort'—the awards were chosen from over 600 entries by nearly two dozen universities. - ➤ At Oklahoma State University’s Industrial Training and Assessment Center, graduate student Himavanth Sakshi earned an ITAC Outstanding Student Award and alumnus Evan Hawk received an ITAC Distinguished Alumni Award on July 17th.
