The Stillwater Police Department said two people died—one person was taken into custody—in a fatal shooting early Monday morning at the 200 block of west Elm Street around 1:14 a.m.

Police charged a second man with conjoint robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious injury to property and feloniously pointing a firearm after a May 30 sledgehammer attack left one man injured and his stepfather fatally shot — an affidavit detailed that the assault arose from accusations of theft and vandalism involving a truck, barn and tractor.
