- ➤ Block 34 held its grand opening and dedication Saturday night in downtown Stillwater, fulfilling plans first set in motion in 2016 — a milestone that adds new life to the area. A heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 8 p.m. CDT as temperatures reach a heat index of 102 to 107, and residents are urged to drink fluids and stay in cool places. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ At 1:14 a.m. on July 28, Stillwater police responded to shots fired on the 200 block of W. Elm Avenue that left Vanessa Henry (38) and Andrew Rice (35) dead and Carman Murphy (34) injured + suspect Theodore DeMarrio McCloud fired at officers before being arrested, and the case remains under active investigation. 1600 KUSH-AM
- ➤ A 32-year-old ex-convict from Cushing was given five concurrent 15-year prison terms for multiple property crimes committed while on parole – his girlfriend also pleaded guilty to similar charges and awaits further sentencing. Stillwater News Network
