- ➤ OSU Arts Week returned for the first time since the 1970s—led by the OSU Arts Committee and supported by more than 10 art departments—and concluded after a week of free performances, interactive activities, and student displays that engaged both the campus and Stillwater community. The festival, which kicked off on April 18, showcased visual, performing, and applied arts across multiple disciplines. OSU

- ➤ Dr. Ying Zhang leads a three-year project with the Hamm Institute at the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology to build an energy grid that uses trusted AI for local, real-time decisions. Her work aims to make future power systems more efficient and secure—helping prevent blackouts and cyberattacks. OSU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ OSU has partnered with Google AI to offer free AI courses and certificates (including digital analytics, digital marketing, and project management) to students and faculty this fall semester, a program aimed at building skills that employers seek. OSU
- ➤ Debbie Macomber will headline OSU Library’s largest annual fundraiser on Oct. 9 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater, featuring dinner, complimentary wine and a Q&A session (ticket sales support the library with individual tickets priced at $125, half of which is a tax-deductible gift). - ➤ Dr. Joseph Campbell said his meeting with mentor Dr. Rao Yarlagadda at OSU in Stillwater changed his life and sparked his work in voice biometrics and artificial intelligence. His work at the NSA and MIT improved secure calls—he now leads a national study to boost security and mentor future innovators. OSU
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Coach Mike Gundy said that the Cowboys will face UT Martin on Aug. 28 with 27 newcomers—mostly transfers expected to play on defense—which doubles last year’s count.
