EDUCATION NEWS

  • At its first meeting this year, the new student government elected Wesley Hurlbut as president and Victoria Smith as vice president while seven new members were sworn in; Hurlbut announced a town hall scheduled for Sept. 16 from 7-8 p.m. in Student Union Case Study 408—he also noted plans to reorganize the multicultural advisory board to better serve underrepresented students.  The O'Colly

SPORTS NEWS

  • Oklahoma State played UT Martin last night in a game that began on Thursday night—marking a shift as Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark moves the conference to more midweek matchups. Yormark said the new schedule will boost exposure with added broadcast deals and partnerships, a change that fans in Stillwater will now experience.  The O'Colly
  • Xcaret Pineda is off to a strong start in her senior season with OSU soccer by scoring five goals and recording one assist on 14 shots—she has been key to the offense and will build on her performance in Thursday’s match against Rice.  The O'Colly
  • Oklahoma State wrestling is preparing for the 2025–26 season as Coach Taylor rebuilds the squad after losing seven starters by relying on a strong Class of 2025 and experienced transfers. The Cowboys are expected to post a 13–2 record, compete in the National Duals Invitational, and aim for another Big 12 Championship and a top-five finish at the NCAA Championships.  The O'Colly
  • OSU hosted the Cowboy Preview on Aug. 29 at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course with four teams—including Oklahoma, Tulsa, Northwestern, and Redlands Community College—taking part as runners competed in the men's 5K at 8:15 a.m. and the women's 3K at 8:45 a.m., with teams looking to build on past results for the new season.  The O'Colly
  • Oklahoma State’s new transfer linebacker Wendell Gregory made an immediate impact in his first game by recording 3 sacks that kept University of Tennessee Martin’s quarterback to 70 yards and no touchdowns—his efforts helped shut down the passing game.  The O'Colly
  • OSU softball announced its fall schedule featuring six games at Cowgirl Stadium and one road game in Wichita. The schedule includes a Sept.23 opener against USA Softball U-19 at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader against Arkansas on Oct.4 — free admission is offered at home games.  The O'Colly
