- ➤ Hugh Jackman will perform songs at McKnight Center on Sept. 12 as part of the Broadway Stars series—doors open at 5 p.m. and the show will be simulcast on the outdoor plaza for free. The O'Colly
- ➤ On September 4th, Sheldon Russell signed a book for a fan at the Stillwater Public Library. The O'Colly
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Stillwater High School’s band, choir— and orchestra were honored as Oklahoma State Academic Champions for 2025; it is the 11th state title for the band and orchestra and the fourth for the choir. Principal Walter Howell presented the trophies to celebrate the programs' success. Stillwater News Press
- ➤ Oklahoma State University hosted its first Math Adventure Camp this summer—38 local children took part in lectures, games, group classes and a mock MATHCOUNTS countdown. Dr. Xu Zhang said the camp aims to make math fun for Stillwater students and will return next summer. OSU
- ➤ Oklahoma State's school of Media and Strategic Communications received its largest donation in program history from alumnus Keith Garton and his husband David Sheehan today, which will fund the new Garton Family Endowed Chair and support rural journalism initiatives and student organizations. The gift will expand hands-on opportunities for students (Garton is a Duncan native and OSU journalism graduate) (University leaders said it strengthens the program’s resources to meet future industry challenges). - ➤ Dr. Nick Thompson from OSU Family and Sports Medicine joined FOX23 on September 3rd to explain how common concussions were in football and ways to protect kids—he stressed using proper techniques and equipment as the season began. OSU
