- ➤ The Park View Estates HOA filed a lawsuit against Google and three construction companies after runoff from a local data center project turned a community pond red and harmed nearby wildlife and historical sites. Residents have maintained the pond for 50 years and fear further damage may spread to other local parks. The O'Colly
- ➤ Town & Gown Theatre in the Round in Stillwater celebrates its 75th season as one man’s love for plays grows into a strong local tradition with active volunteer support. Stillwater News Press
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Theodore McCloud, 36, was charged Thursday with double murder, shooting with intent to kill, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses after Stillwater police responded to a shots fired call on July 28 on W. Elm Street—one survivor said McCloud had shot her boyfriend. Stillwater News Press
- ➤ Elijah Shane Winters, 40, was charged with one count of embezzlement in the Payne County District Court — a Cushing officer responded to a report at Dollar General after Asset Protection found cash audit discrepancies. Stillwater News Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On September 5th, OSU’s Electrical & Computer Engineering department gave Dr. Ying Zhang the Jack H. Graham Endowed Fellow honor, made Dr. John Hu the Lynn T. Miller Faculty Fellow, and recognized Dr. Hamid Pouya as a Distinguished Fellow for his work in teaching & research. The awards honored the faculty for their strong work in research and for helping students learn. OSU
