  • OSU graduate Aaron Sizemore, managing director and head of national energy finance at East West Bank, will receive one of three Outstanding Young Alumni awards at the Oct. 10 Spears Business Hall of Fame banquet at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center—he credits his OSU experience for launching his career and family—with the ceremony set to honor his contributions to energy finance.  OSU

  • KUSH magazine is republishing past articles with advice for beginning musicians from notable local artists to honor HOME's 10-year milestone and the late Rick Sellers’ 69th birthday on Sept. 8, 2025—offering tips on practice, networking, and staying true to one's sound. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Oklahoma State University hosted the Pathways to Promise Summit on Sept. 3 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center, where students, families and community partners learned about college, career and technical education options—State Rep. Cyndi Munson and others shared personal success stories and practical advice for navigating higher education.  OSU
  • OSU's Robert M. Kerr Food and Agricultural Products Center in Stillwater is offering fall workshops for food processors, entrepreneurs, and growers — courses include certifications, regulatory training, food safety, and hands-on product development sessions.  OSU
  • OSU and Texas A&M are creating a national research center to study safe underground storage of fluids used for energy and to work with industry partners plus train future experts. The center will use new research to improve energy security and reduce risks of leakage from underground storage sites.  OSU
  • Stillwater Public Schools will spend September focusing on students' mental health in observance of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—engaging students, staff and families in talks and sharing life-saving resources. The district said it will work hard to reduce stigma and support open conversation—ensuring help is available for all who need it.  Stillwater News Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today the City of Stillwater received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association — marking 43 consecutive years of high-quality fiscal reporting for Fiscal Year 2024.
