- ➤ Stillwater’s League of Women Voters will host a forum titled 'Separation of Church and State' at 6 p.m. Sept 30 at the Stillwater Community Center room 121. The free event—featuring panelists Rev. Kevin Huddleston and Jim Lawler—will add to the Civic Conversations series. Stillwater News Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Shuodao Wang from OSU’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering led a team that used soft electronics rolled into a 3D shape to create brain probes that record signals at different depths—this tool showed more detailed data than flat probes and will be tested further. The research was published in Nature Electronics and marks a step forward in brain study. OSU
- ➤ Holt Truck Centers donated five heavy-duty trucks to three Oklahoma schools to give students hands-on diesel training—two went to Francis Tuttle Technology Center and OSU Institute of Technology while one went to Tulsa Tech—to help them become job-ready. OSU
- ➤ Oklahoma State University researchers developed a new device that acts as a smoke alarm for earthquakes and tested it on September 25 to protect homes plus bridges and cultural landmarks. The team plans to improve the technology before it is used in new construction. Stillwater News Press
