EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Physicists from Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma received a $600K Air Force grant to test new ways to control quantum systems, a key part of advanced technology work. The three-year award will support a postdoctoral researcher and a graduate student to design tools for precise atom control — boosting research and training. OSU
- ➤ Data Bytes is a workshop series for researchers and related individuals to explore digital tools—registration provides access to a Zoom link or in-person location and gives OSU-affiliated graduate students the chance to earn professional development credit through the Graduate College. OSU
- ➤ The Black Student Association hosted an AUX wars block party Friday at the Student Union Plaza in collaboration with the Student Union Activities Board—bringing students together with music, games, and prizes. - ➤ Five new members were elected to the OSU Foundation Board of Trustees—their names announced Friday—and will serve for the next four years, bringing expertise in fields like engineering, accounting, and law as OSU Foundation President Blaine Atkinson and board chair Bryan Begley highlighted their commitment to OSU. - ➤ On Tuesday, Stillwater Medical Center partnered with Our Daily Bread to offer free breast exams at 701 E. 12th Ave in a second-year initiative that brought women, children, and men into the nonprofit’s back rooms—local residents benefited from improved access to preventive care.
