Dr. Kayla Jiang of Spears Business is using data analytics to study how false information spread during the March 14 wildfire that affected Stillwater and Payne County.

She says local groups — including community leaders and journalists — can help people check facts before sharing news.

OSU launched a $2 billion campaign to support renewable scholarships, campus upgrades and athletic programs, and it awarded its first Code Calls Scholarship to junior Lizzie Cowan on Thursday (she needed a new funding boost as her previous support was ending in spring).

The project brings researchers together—using satellite data to study groundwater policies and help local producers use smarter irrigation methods for long-term sustainability.

OSU's Spears Business faculty created a patent-pending AI tool that uses 10 biomarkers to predict diabetic retinopathy risk and it will soon be pilot tested in rural clinics—helping primary care providers catch the risk early and guide timely treatment.
