- ➤ Residents can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win a one-night stay at Atherton Hotel on the Oklahoma State University campus and an exclusive gift package while supporting United Way of Payne County. The drawing will be held at 12 Noon on December 1 and tickets cost $5 each or 5 for $20—redemption restrictions apply during high-volume dates. OSU
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Robert Cottingham’s exhibition is on view at the OSU Museum of Art in Stillwater — running from November 18 to February 14 — and features prints of neon signs and storefronts that reflect his 15-year exploration of American typography and culture. OSU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ CEAT opened its new Aircraft and Atmospheric Interactions Research Laboratory to study how low-altitude weather affects the performance of small unmanned aircraft—led by Drs. Avery and de Azevedo, graduate students, and CEAT staff who used lab tests and field campaigns to fill gaps in weather data. The research will help improve aviation safety and boost next-generation aircraft efficiency. OSU
- ➤ On November 18th, Dean Weidner donated $10M to establish the Weidner Business and Real Estate Center at OSU's Spears School of Business. The gift also launched a new bachelor’s program in real estate and boosted the Code Calls fundraising campaign. OSU
- ➤ Oklahoma public schools will not adopt new social studies textbooks next year because the academic standards remain unsettled — the State Textbook Committee voted on Friday to suspend the adoption cycle — until the Supreme Court and the state department update the standards. - ➤ Oklahoma State University Cowboy Tennis players are set to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships today—continuing through November 22 as they vie for individual honors. OSU
- ➤ On November 18, the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Tennis team played against Austin M25; additional matches are scheduled for today—November 19—and for November 20, November 21 and November 22. OSU
- ➤ Oklahoma State University's Cowboy Tennis team played UTR PTT Waco on November 18 and will play them today—with additional matches set for November 20, November 21, and November 22. OSU
