- ➤ The MBA Association is hosting the Cowboys vs Cancer Toy Drive to support children undergoing cancer treatment. Drop-off boxes are available in two locations at the Watson Graduate School of Management office in the Business building and the General Academic Business room 201. OSU
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Red Dirt pioneer Cody Canada returns to the new Wormy Dog Saloon on Dec. 13 at 421 S. Washington St, where the historic venue is reborn with nostalgic elements plus modern touches like pool tables. Canada and Mike McClure will perform to mark the reopening. The O'Colly
- ➤ OSU staff and volunteers have begun chalking the entire gospel of John on sidewalks near Edmon Low Library. The project started Tuesday morning, involves people from diverse faith traditions, and will continue until completion (despite chilly weather and low chalk supply). The O'Colly
- ➤ OSU’s orchestral conducting students will perform a musical event at the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts Recital Hall (705 W University Avenue) in Stillwater. The ticketed unpaid event is open to current students, families, and the public. OSU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ OSU Extension Center offers a free 18-hour cadastral mapping course covering Oklahoma land identification systems at Large Classroom — 127, teaching metes and bounds, rectangular survey, and parcel numbering as well as mapping equipment, base maps, acreage calculation, and a case problem to apply lessons. - ➤ University Student Affairs offers study tips for finals as students are advised to choose a quiet spot and use active methods such as practice problems, flashcards and study groups while breaking sessions into blocks and attending office hours for help. The O'Colly
- ➤ As finals week begins, engineering tutor Kara Ceyda at the LASSO Center offers free one-on-one tutoring (available in-person and virtual) and advises students to use dedicated study spaces with quiet breaks; assistant professor Emily Abel recommends regular sleep schedules and planned study sessions to boost focus. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ OSU wrestling will compete at the Cougar Clash on Sunday at SIU Edwardsville with nine teams testing the young Cowboys in coach David Taylor's new, challenging schedule. The event replaces a planned three-week break and sets the stage for four tournaments later this season. The O'Colly
- ➤ The OSU Cowboys remain undefeated at 8-0 after one month, with coach Steve Lutz praising the team’s fast play + impressive recruiting while noting that defense remains a work in progress.
